Eligibility and documents
- Check if you meet the eligibility criteria: You must be 18 years or older, earn at least R29,000.00 per month, have a good credit score and history, and have a valid South African ID book or Smart card, or a passport and a valid permit if you are a foreign national.
- Gather the required documents:You will need to provide proof of income, such as payslips for the past 3 months or bank statements, as well as proof of residence that is not older than 3 months at the time of application.
Find the Nedbank Platinum Credit Card on the website
Go to Nedbank’s website and locate the “bank” option at the top left side of the page, right between the “personal” and “save & invest” options.
Once you have found the “bank” option, run your mouse over it to view a dropdown menu. There you must click on the “credit cards” option.
After clicking the “credit cards” option, you will arrive at Nedbank’s credit cards page. You must now scroll down to find the Nedbank Platinum Credit Card.
When you find the credit card, click the “apply online” button right below it. This will take you to the application form page.
Apply for the credit card
Enter your South African ID, your primary cellphone number and your email address, then hit “next”.
After that, follow the on-screen instructions to fill in the rest of the application. The application form will ask for personal and financial information, such as your name, address, employment status, and income.
If you do not feel comfortable applying online, you can always visit a Nedbank branch and apply for the card there.
Nedbank will review your application and let you know if you have been approved. This process may take a few days or longer, depending on the volume of applications.
Activate your Nedbank Platinum Credit Card
If Nedbank approves your application, you will need to activate your card by following the instructions provided by Nedbank. You will also need to sign the card and set up a PIN for security purposes.
