To open a Walmart MoneyCard account, you must be over the age of 18 and have a valid Social Security Number. You also need to provide personal information as well as your current address for verification. Green Dot Bank may require extra ID verification, and you must provide an email upon registration to access all the mobile app features.
No. Since the Walmart MoneyCard is a prepaid debit card, there are no hard inquiries on your credit history. Additionally, the card does not report any account activities to the main credit bureaus in the country.
You can waive your Walmart MoneyCard monthly fee by making or receiving direct deposits into your account of $500 or more. However, that has to happen in the previous monthly statement period. Otherwise, you’ll be charged a $5.94 fee.
