There might be differences when applying for the card from your phone and from your computer. So, in order to avoid confusion, let’s start talking about each separately.

On the American Express website, locate the three-line menu at the top left corner of the page and tap it. When you see the new menu, tap “cards” and then “view all credit cards”.

Then, on the next page, locate The Platinum Card® from American Express to start the application process.

Tap the right-pointing arrow right next to it. This will take you to a page containing information about the card.

Find and tap the “apply now button”, and you will arrive at the application form page. You may now skip to the “continuing with the application” section of this article.

Go to American Express’ website and locate the “cards” option at the top left third of the page. Click that option and you will see a dropdown menu.

On that menu, under the “Personal Cards” row, click on “view all credit cards”. With that, you will arrive at the credit cards page.

There you can easily locate The Platinum Card®. Once you have found it, click on the “apply now button”. This will take you to the application form page.

Once there, enter your full name. Below it, enter your first and last name, which is how your name will be printed on your Platinum Card® from American Express.

Further below, enter your email address, your date of birth, your mobile phone number, and your home address.

If you do not have a credit history in the U.S., but have had a credit card or loan in the foreign countries described in the page, check the box. You must also enter your social security number.

Further below enter your total annual income, your non-taxable income (this is optional), and also your income source. 

Now, check the box if you agree to receive a one-time text message to download the American Express® app once you have been approved.

After that, click on “continue to terms”. Then, on the next page, you can review the terms before clicking on “Agree & Submit Application”. 

Congratulations, you are done!
