Requirements and Qualifying Criteria
To be eligible for the Absa Student Credit Card and start the application, you must have a minimum monthly income or allowance of R800 and be between the ages of 18 and 30 years.
The required documentation includes a valid South African ID book or smart card, proof of residence, and the latest proof of income for three consecutive months.
Additionally, the applicant must be a registered full-time student at an FET college, SAQA-approved institution, university, university of technology, or private institution.

How to apply online for your Absa Student Credit Card
Go to Absa’s website and locate the “credit cards” option at the top left third of the page. Once you have found it, click on it.
The website will then reveal a dropdown menu where you must click on “see all” to check out all of their credit card offers. Now, on the new page, scroll down to find the Absa Student Credit Card.
Once you have found it click on the “tell me more” option to learn more details about the card. There you will learn that there are three ways you can apply for the Absa Student Credit Card.
The first one is by visiting an Absa branch. You can easily locate a branch by clicking on the “Absa branch” hyperlink below “our credit card application process”.
You can also apply for the Absa Student Credit Card through the Absa Student bureau. Just google “Absa Student bureau”, and you will find an option that says “contact us for information on student accounts”.
The third option is applying for the Absa Student bureau by calling the bank. You can contact them by phone at 0861-114-411.
This service is available on weekdays from 08:00 to 17:30, as well as on Saturdays from 08:00 to 13:00.
