- Loan Amount: $1,000 minimum loan amount, $99,999 annual maximum loan amount and $180,000 student loan limit.
- Credit Needed: At least 660.
- Terms: 7, 10 or 15 years.
- Origination Fee: There is no origination fee.
- Late Fee: There is no late fee.
- Early Payoff Penalty: None.
Custom Choice Loan®: is it a good loan?
The institutions behind the Custom Choice Loan are Cognition Financial and Citizens Bank. There are student loans options for both graduate and undergraduate students and one of the things that stands out with this program is how out in the open the fees are. That said, there are no hidden fees, no late fees and no early payoff penalties.
Custom Choice offers competitive interest rates and you can request a loan with or without a co-signer. The loan amount is a minimum of $1,000 and can reach up to $99,999 annually. Interest rates vary from whichever APR you choose (variable or fixed) based on creditworthiness. Custom Choice not only offers student loans, but there are also graduation rewards and opportunities for scholarships. The loan terms are designed to fit your budget and you can pay off your debt between 7 and 15 years.

What is the required credit score?
Custom Choice Loan® requires a minimum 660 credit score for eligibility if the borrower doesn’t have a co-signer. However, if the co-signer’s credit rating is higher than 699, the borrower’s credit score can fall beneath the 600 mark. If the co-signer’s credit is well above 700, then the institution won’t ask for a minimum score from the borrower.
But there are other factors that will impact your loan request. Such as being a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, have at least 18 months of good credit and be a graduate or undergraduate student at a pre-approved school.
