That said, there are no hidden fees, no late fees and no early payoff penalties.

Custom Choice offers competitive interest rates and you can request a loan with or without a co-signer. The loan amount is a minimum of $1,000 and can reach up to $99,999 annually. Custom Choice is a solid option to help you fund your education and will give you rewards simply for completing your graduation. However, like with all financial products, it’s crucial to learn the ins and outs before applying for it. See what they are next in our Custom Choice Loan® review.

Benefits

  • Co-signer options available for graduate and undergraduate students;
  • No origination, late or early payoff fees;
  • Grad rewards: borrowers can get a 2% reduction from the principal amount upon proof of graduation;
  • Discount for autopay;
  • Easy and fast pre-qualification process.

Disadvantages

  • Loans are only available for schools that feature in their pre-approved list;
  • Short forbearance period: no more than 2 months at a time and 12 months total;

What is the required credit score?

Custom Choice Loan® requires a minimum 660 credit score for eligibility if the borrower doesn’t have a co-signer. However, if the co-signer’s credit rating is higher than 699, the borrower’s credit score can fall beneath the 600 mark. If the co-signer’s credit is well above 700, then the institution won’t ask for a minimum score from the borrower.

But there are other factors that will impact your loan request. Such as being a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, have at least 18 months of good credit and be a graduate or undergraduate student at a pre-approved school.
