How to get your OppFi® card

In this OppFi® card application guide you will learn how to get this card with no security deposit even if you have bad credit.

  • Credit Score: Bad – Poor
  • APR: 35.99% fixed
  • Annual Fee: $99
  • Fees: $5 or 5% cash advance fee (whichever is greater, 2% foreign transaction fee.
  • Welcome bonus: N/A
  • Rewards: N/A

Although this card accepts applicants with poor credit, it does not offer on-going rewards, perks, and it carries a heavy 35.99% fixed APR.

Applicants do not need to make a security deposit to get the card, and the application process has no impact on your score.

OppFi® card: how does it work?

Because the OppFi® card is an unsecured card for the least creditworthy consumer, it poses a risk for lenders. Risk factors are usually responsible for higher rates on credit cards.

However, the 35.99% fixed standard APR that this card offers is hard to justify.

Individuals with poor credit frequently carry a balance, and incurring such high interest can make it impossible to repay depending on the cardholders financial situation.

If you borrow at a high interest rate, you risk getting trapped in debt. The card says it offers a credit line of $1,000.

While this is true on the surface, if you take a look under the hood you will learn that your real limit is $901, as the annual $99 fee is taken from your credit limit.

If the fact that you have poor credit has been making it hard for you to find other revolving credit products with a $1,000 credit line, try building using a secured card.

Once you have improved your credit, apply for an unsecured card, preferably without an annual fee, and most definitely without a high APR such as this one.

This credit card does not offer any ongoing rewards or welcome bonus. It does, however, offer mobile and online banking.
