How to get your Citi Simplicity® Card

This Citi Simplicity® Card application guide will take you by the hand through the whole process in just a few minutes.

  • Credit Score: Good – Excellent
  • APR: Variable 16.99%-27.74%
  • Annual Fee: $0
  • Fees: 3% foreign transaction fee
  • Welcome bonus: N/A
  • Rewards: N/A

How about never ever paying late fees, penalty rates, or annual fees? With the Citi Simplicity® Card, you get all those on top of the super long 0% intro APR period.

This is the perfect card for people who have difficulty remembering to make their payments.

Citi Simplicity® Card: how does it work?

In this Citi Simplicity® Card review, you will see how this card can help you pay down debt or finance a large purchase. Its most outstanding feature is its lengthy 0% intro APR period for balance transfers.

If you are trying to tackle existing debt, this card will help you do that. However, this card earns no rewards, and the balance transfer fee you will pay may cost you as much as the interest you will avoid.

The balance transfer fee is 3% of the amount of each transfer. If 3% of the transfer costs you less than $5, you will actually have to pay the $5. This is the minimum you will pay.

The 3% rate is valid only for the first four months since opening the account. After four months, the balance transfer fee is 5% of the amount of each transfer (or $5, whichever is greater).

Regardless, this card is proven to be the perfect fit for people who tend to forget to make their payments on time. There is no penalty APR or late fee if you miss a payment.

However, it is worth pointing out that making late payments can still impact your credit score negatively. So we strongly recommend you do not take advantage of this card’s forgiving nature.

The Citi Simplicity® Card does not charge an annual fee, but it also does not offer a welcome bonus or ongoing rewards. There is also a 3% foreign transaction fee if you use your card abroad.
