Learn how to get your Current Visa debit card: online application

Go to Current’s website and locate the “Sign Up” button. Once you have found it, click on it. Next, the website will ask you to enter your cell phone number.

After entering the number click “Sign Up”. The website will then text you to sign up and download the app on your phone. Go ahead and download the app.4

Now that you have downloaded it, open the app and tap the “Get Started” button. The app will ask you to verify your phone number by sending you a verification code. 

As soon as you confirm that number, the app will ask you to sign up with your email. Enter your email and hit “Next”.

On the next page, you must enter your first and last names. Once you have done that, hit “next” to continue with the Current Visa debit card application.

Then, enter your street address and hit “next”. Note that Current does not accept P.O. boxes.

On the next screen, the app will give you the option to choose between a Personal Checking account or a Teen Banking account. Choose the Teen Banking account.

The app will then take you to a screen where you must choose your role, whether primary parent, secondary parent or teen. Since you are the one setting up the account, hit Primary Parent.

Then you must enter your teenager’s first and last name. After that, there will be a security question about what your teenager usually calls you. 

On the next page, enter your teenager’s date of birth and hit “Confirm”.

This will take you to yet another page where you will get to choose whether you want your teenager to have a black or white card, or whether he or she already has one.

The next screen will show you the pricing, and it is where you will receive information about your 30-day free trial.

The app will also inform you that your card should arrive within one or two weeks.

On the next screen, you will connect your external bank account. This step is necessary to activate the new account.

Next you will be able to personalize your account by choosing a photo.

Finally, the app will take you to the home screen where you must add your teenager so that he or she can get the app as well.

Once your teenager has downloaded the app, connect his or her banking information and the account is all set!
