Applying on your desktop computer
On TIAA Bank’s initial page, locate the “Open an account” button at the top right corner of the page, and click on it. This will take you to a page where you will find options for a number of different accounts.
For the purpose of this article, we are going to open a Yield Pledge® Checking account, but you can open whichever account you please.
You can also select multiple accounts. Just click on “Select” close to the account, and then hit “Start Application” at the top of the page.
Applying on your mobile phone
On TIAA Bank’s initial page, locate the yellow “Open an Account” button at the bottom of the page and click on it. Then, on the next page, select the types of accounts you would like to open by clicking on “select”.
After that, click the “Start Application” button at the top of the page. This will take you to the first page of the application form.
Continuing with the application
Inform the website whether you already have a TIAA or TIAA Bank login. For this guide, we have selected the option “no”.
Now, enter your opening deposit amount, select your account extras and card design, and then hit “Continue”. On the next page, inform your account type, and enter your information as the website requires.
First, enter your first and last name, along with your date of birth and your Social Security Number. Then, scroll down and enter your email and mobile phone number.
Scrolling further down, you must enter your residential address. Then, create a security code and enter your employment information. After that, hit “Continue”.
Now, review the information you have provided before clicking “continue” once again. Once you click it, you will arrive on another page where you must review and e-sign a consent agreement by checking the box.
After doing that, click “Submit Application”. Your confirmation should appear within a few minutes at most.
Then, you must enter the initial funding and the funding method and click “Continue”. Now all you have to do is fund your account and start using it.
