Norwegian Cruise Line® World Mastercard®: how does it work?
The Norwegian Cruise Line World Mastercard offers frequent Norwegian cruisers the opportunity to earn rewards. You can redeem them for onboard credit or discounts on Norwegian cruises.
Cardholders can earn 20,000 bonus WorldPoints after spending $1,000 within 90 days of account opening. You can redeem it for a $200 onboard credit or $200 off a future cruise.
Furthermore, the card offers 3 WorldPoints for every $1 spent on Norwegian Cruise Line purchases. It also offers 2 WorldPoints for every $1 spent on eligible airline and hotel purchases.
Finally, it offers 1 WorldPoint for every $1 spent on all other purchases. The card also does not have an annual fee or foreign transaction fees. Plus, there is no expiration date for rewards earned.
Further, the card is ideal for individuals with a credit score of 670-850 and a good-excellent credit rating.
Its regular APR is 17.49%-27.49% variable. Also, there is a balance transfer fee of either $10 or 3% of the amount of each transaction, whichever is greater. However, the card does not charge a foreign transaction fee.
As usual, there are pros and cons to this card. The pros include the bonus after $1,000 in purchases and the ability to redeem rewards for Norwegian cruise benefits.
However, the card has a high penalty APR that applies indefinitely, which could become costly if you carry a balance.
Additionally, points expire after five years. This period may not be sufficient time to accumulate the number of points you need for a full cruise fare redemption.
