The First Progress Platinum Select Mastercard® Secured Credit Card is great if you have a bad score or no credit history. First because it doesn’t perform hard inquiries on new applications. While it requires a minimum amount as a security deposit, it reports all monthly payments to the three main credit bureaus, which helps you build your credit score. Plus, with on-time payments you might be able to graduate to an unsecured card in just 6 months.

The First Progress Platinum Select Mastercard® Secured Credit Card charges all cardholders a $39 annual fee. However, that’s not the only fee attached to the card. You’ll also have to pay a 3% cash advance fee (min. $10), a 3% foreign transaction fee and a max late fee up to $41.

Once you’re approved for the card, it should take about two weeks for the First Progress Platinum Select Mastercard® Secured Credit Card to arrive at your address. If you need the card sooner than that, you can pay $19.95 for expedited shipping. By opting for the expedited process, your card will arrive 7 days sooner.
