Application process
There are two ways to apply for a Discover Student loan. You can do it by phone, calling 1-800-7883368 and talking to an attendant.
The other way is to fill out the application form on their website. This can be easier and faster if you’re good at filling out online forms. Which you probably are because you’re a graduate student.
It will take you something between 15 and 30 minutes. Your co-signer has to fill it with you.
The application form will request the usual: personal and contact info and the loan requirement specification.
They’ll ask for your school information and the amount of money you will request. You also need to inform your Social Security Number and other financial info, like if you pay rent or mortgage and your total income with its source. Remember that this goes both for you and for your co-signer.
Once you submit your form, Discover will analyze it and give you an answer about your student loan. They may ask for additional info when needed in order to give you an offer.
